Dr Garrett Smith

A/Prof Garett Smith is a specialist laparoscopic and upper gastrointestinal general surgeon who has been in practice on Sydney’s lower north shore and northern beaches for twenty years. He has appointments at Wyvern Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, and Sydney Adventist Hospital.

A/Prof Smith’s specialises in laparoscopic surgery for inguinal and abdominal wall hernias, gallbladder pathology, gastroesophageal reflux and hiatus hernia. A/Prof Smith also has a busy bariatric surgical practice, performing approximately 300 bariatric procedures per annum.

A/Prof Smith has held a number of executive and leadership roles relevant to his clinical practice including Head of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Department, Royal North Shore Hospital, Member of the Court of Examiners, RACS, Chairman of Sydney Upper Gastrointestinal Surgical Society and Founding Executive member of the Australian and New Zealand Gastroesophageal Surgeons Association.
