Dr imogen patterson

Dr Imogen Patterson is a specialist urological surgeon offering expert care in robotic, laparoscopic, and laser surgery. Her clinical practice includes the management of prostate cancer, kidney and bladder tumours, BPH, kidney stones, haematuria, lower urinary tract symptoms, and recurrent urinary tract infections. She performs advanced procedures including robotic prostatectomy, robotic nephrectomy, minimally invasive surgery on the prostate, and complex laser stone surgery.

Dr Patterson trained in tertiary centres across NSW and QLD and obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Urology. She operates and consults at Wyvern Private Hospital and provides regional outreach services, recognising the importance of access to specialist care beyond metropolitan areas.

Known for her clear communication, collaborative approach, and focus on holistic care, she works closely with GPs and other specialists to support individualised, evidence-based treatment plans. She has a particular interest in men’s health, perioperative optimisation, and supporting the health needs of veterans.

In addition, Dr Patterson is a CASA-Approved Aviation Consultant in Urology and consults on aviation medical certification and human performance in flight. With a strong interest in aerospace and high-reliability environments, she brings systems thinking and surgical precision to both the clinical and aviation spheres.

Outside of surgery, Dr Patterson is a mother and actively engaged in ongoing clinical research — when she can find a quiet moment. She brings the same balance, perspective, and discipline to her practice that she brings to life..
