Dr Darren Paterson

Dr Darren Paterson is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon with more than 25 years of surgical experience. He specialises in hip and knee surgery, including both primary joint replacement and complex revision procedures for worn or problematic implants.

Born and raised on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Dr Paterson provides care to patients across Sydney, the Northern Beaches, Central Coast, and South Coast regions of NSW. His approach focuses on evidence-based treatment and individualised care, with each surgical plan tailored to the needs and circumstances of the patient.

Over the course of his career, Dr Paterson has performed more than 4,000 hip and knee replacement procedures. He regularly incorporates modern surgical techniques, such as patient-specific tools and robotic-assisted surgery, designed to support precision and improve implant alignment. Alongside his private practice, Dr Paterson also serves as an Orthopaedic Surgeon (Major) in the Australian Army Reserve, reflecting his commitment to both patient care and community service.
