Dr Charlie Lin is an Orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty interest in hip and knee replacement, reconstruction and revision surgery as well as complex trauma surgery. He uses the state-of-theart MAKO robotic arm to perform many joint replacement procedures including total and partial knee replacements. He underwent Orthopaedic surgical training in Sydney and obtained his surgical fellowship with the Royal Australasia College of Surgeons in 2011. Following this he completed his sub-specialty fellowship in Hip and Knee Reconstruction and Replacement at the Rubin Institute of Advanced Orthopaedics in Baltimore, Maryland USA. He also completed an AO Trauma Fellowship in complex pelvic and acetabular trauma management at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington USA. He then returned home to Sydney and completed a Hip/Knee and Trauma Fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital. Established private practice in Wahroonga and was appointed at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital in 2012.
About Dr Charlie Lin:
First orthopaedic surgeon in Sydney to gain early experience in robotic-arm assisted partial knee surgery in 2015.
He is now fully accredited in MAKO robotic technology in partial knee, total hip and total knee replacements.
Dr. Lin successfully performed one of the first robotic-arm assisted total knee replacements in Sydney in 2017.
Special interest in hip and knee reconstruction and replacement surgery, complex trauma surgery including pelvic and acetabular reconstruction.
Dr Lin is one of the few surgeons in Sydney to offer direct anterior hip replacement surgery, using a minimally invasive bikini incision.
Trained in deformity correction procedures of the lower limb.
Experienced surgeon performing Taylor Spatial Frame Computer Assisted deformity correction procedures of the lower limb.
Worked at Liverpool Hospital Sydney as a trauma orthopaedic surgeon dedicating his time to performing complex trauma surgery.
