Dr Katharine Guggenheimer

Dr Katharine Guggenheimer is a Specialist General Surgeon who works in private practice in the Northern Beaches.

She completed her medical training at Melbourne University and graduated as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, having completed her training in Melbourne.

Dr Guggenheimer is a lecturer in surgery at Sydney University and mentors medical students and junior doctors.

She has special areas of interest in endoscopy and colonoscopy (GESA qualified), skin cancer, breast cancer and implant complications, laparoscopic surgery and complex hernia repair.

She also has special interest in trauma, having worked extensively in rural and remote areas of Australia.

Dr Guggenheimer is involved in multi-disciplinary teams for cancer treatment and in surgical research.
